Tribal Bar and Grill announces expansion plans within months of opening

Just four months on from opening its doors for the first time, Hull's £1m super-sports bar is already set for expansion.

Tribal Bar and Grill has been popular with punters since it served its first customer in November - so much so that plans have already been revealed to almost double its capacity.

The bar, opened by Hull FC owner Adam Pearson and Hull KR's Neil Hudgell, has been doing a roaring trade. It shows everything from football to boxing, along with their beloved rugby league, and soon fans will hopefully be able to sit out in the sunshine while still taking in the sport they love.

Bosses are planning on installing a 90-inch screen outside in a secluded beer garden so people can catch some rays while they sit with their pint.

An outside bar is to be installed, along with an outdoor grill, canopy and even electric heaters for when it gets a bit chilly - providing it receives planning permission from Hull City Council.

There is hope the new outdoor area will be ready for one of the city's biggest sporting occasions and Craig Long, assistant manager at the venue, says they are hopeful it will be ready in time.

"Hopefully it'll be done by May. There's no official date but the owners wanted it for the derby in April," he said.

"There will be an outside bar and an outside grill around the rear of the building. We're going to be adding approximately 200 covers which is pretty much double.

"On a weekend, especially in the summer, the busiest pubs are the ones with beer gardens.

"It was always in the plan. It was built-in when we did the initial build. The electric and gas was already built-in."

Mr Long says a separate, smaller seating area will also be built at the front of the bar.

Twenty five more places will be created near the front entrance of the venue especially for smokers.
