This swanky gym is opening in Hull's Humber Street - and you can book your own 'pod' for a private workout

An inclusive and accessible gym and lifestyle centre is set to open in Humber Street.

The Temple is set to move in to the old units which were previously owned and run by the Kingston Art Group, which left the building in March.

The gym is aiming to set a different scene to Humber Street, which has been given a facelift in recent years and attracted more businesses than ever before.

The Temple will boast a gym, personal training sessions and classes, sports therapy and private bookable "pods" which feature enough room and fitness products for clients to use individually without being interrupted.

The Temple's co-owner, Dale Robinson said: "The gym will have sort of an urban feel, and will have a cafe and retail area where customers can buy sports clothes and that kind of thing.

"We will have the personal training sessions and the gym and also classes and pilates and yoga.

"Because it is a commercial area, people can come whenever they want, after work or whenever they want it is easy for people to get to, we are trying to look after everyone in the area."

Dale, who also owns The Temple at Hesslewood Office Park in Hessle, and co-owns the Humber Street branch with partner, Riccardo Seaton, said he is hoping to make the gym accessible and affordable for everyone.

He said: "It is such a good opportunity and is an up and coming area in the city. We wanted to be one of the first on the curb and at the front of that.

"The gym is going to be special and affordable, with no contracts. In Hesslewood, we charge around £29 a month. Humber Street will be a bit cheaper. We want to make it accessble and inclusive for everyone."

Dale is hoping to open The Temple on Humber Street in around 16 weeks.
