A Hull boxer has officially opened a west Hull pub after it underwent a transformation.

The Oddbottle in Wold Road reopened earlier this month as a Sizzling Pub & Grill, and Tommy Coyle was on hand to officially open the pub.

Speaking about reopening the Oddbottle, Tommy said: “It’s great to be back in my hometown and I’m honoured to have been asked to officially reopen the Oddbottle.

“The Oddbottle have been backing me since the beginning of my career and I really value the support of the local community. The new pub looks great I’m sure it will be a big hit with the people of Hull.”

Tommy, 29, recently made is US debut in Boston, where he claimed victory over 10 rounds against Ryan Kielczwesk.

The Pub & Grill celebrated its reopening by inviting Tommy to officially reopen the new look pub, making him guest of honour at a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Oddbottle also pledged its support to the Alzheimer’s Society and the Epilepsy Society, announcing their plans for a number of fundraising events in the upcoming months to raise money and awareness for the local charities.

The refreshed Oddbottle resumed serving guests after an extensive three-week refurbishment.

Following a significant investment, ten new jobs have been created for the local area.

“Bringing the new look Oddbottle to Hull is really exciting for the whole team. At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good food and good value for all our guests, and we’re thrilled to be providing the area with a new dining destination that does that in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
