Sweet tweet for Nisa as Lord Sugar hits five million followers

Lord Sugar has shined a light on Scunthorpe convenience retail specialist Nisa after Apprentice winner Alana Spencer’s Ridiculously Rich brand of cakes was stocked.

He shared the news of the 2016 winner with a cool 5.3 million Twitter followers.

Launched in 2010, the business started life in a Welsh country kitchen, receiving the huge boost the BBC hit show brings – as well as the enobled entrepreneur’s cash and support – two years ago.

It has been scaled up from a small bakery with “luxury cakes and chocolates designed to delight”.

Lord Sugar used Twitter to appeal to stores to stock Ridiculously Rich Grab and Go bars or self serve brownie units.

It comes as Nisa toasts a biggest-ever annual exhibition and conference at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, the first since the ink dried on the takeover of the Normanby Enterprise Park giant by The Co-op.

A spokeswoman for Nisa said the company deals with hundreds of suppliers through its Direct to Store channel that makes available thousands of additional products to independent retailers alongside the core offer delivered nationally from the Scunthorpe distribution centre. 

“We are delighted to have the profile of Direct to Store raised by Lord Sugar,” she added.
