The Grimsby branch of Santander laid on the session, which including a networking element for customers too.

One of the clients, Becky Hornsey, runs Just Good Cake.

She started baking from home but eventually had so many cake orders that she realised she had a business case for her own business.

Donna Randell, who is working in the Grimsby branch saw her featured in the  Telegraph last October, and called her to offer support. She soon switched to Santander, welcoming the pro-active approach.

“It is important we support local businesses in achieving their ambitions,” Donna said.

“This event provided new knowledge to help support business growth and helps them to build a stronger and more active network of support and connections.”

It was welcomed by Becky, who has premises in Wellowgate. She said: “It’s important to me as a business owner that I build my network and hear from others as to their experiences and how they developed.

“Events like these are testament to the work Santander is doing to ensure local business communities and like-minded entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to further their ambitions.”
