Scunthorpe best small businesses revealed after thousands of votes cast in poll
By Scunthorpe Telegraph | Posted: 30 Nov 2018
Businesses from the Scunthorpe area have been recognised ahead of Small Business Saturday.
The national grassroots initiative takes place on the first Saturday in December each year and was launched to encourage people to shop in and support their local businesses.
As part of the campaign, Scunthorpe MP Nic Dakin presented his own Small Business Awards in a ceremony at Sovereign House in Scunthorpe last night.
The competition attracted hundreds of nominations in total, with thousands of votes cast in the final poll for the shortlisted businesses.
Mr Dakin said: "This year's competition was even bigger and better than last year. There's a lot of energy, enthusiasm and entrepreneurship from local people and you can see that from the range of local people here.

"Everyone who has taken part is a winner - there are a lot of great local businesses in our area.
"Here's to another great year of celebrating them."
