One of East Yorkshire’s top young business talents has been promoted to managing director at digital advertising firm Forward & Thinking.
Natalie Downie first joined the agency five years ago after impressing the team during a two-week work experience placement.
She was offered a job as an account executive, and within two years rose through the ranks to become account director.
Natalie has now been announced as Forward & Thinking’s new managing director.
The move comes just weeks after Natalie was also named in the region’s Top 30 Under 30 list– celebrating East Yorkshire’s top young employees.
Natalie said: “It’s an honour to be promoted to managing director of a company that I am so passionate about.

“I’m so lucky to have a great team at Forward And Thinking, and they’ve all been such an important part of my career so far.
“I’d like to thank Alison for being such an inspiration and for having the faith in me to make me MD.”
Forward And Thinking was founded by Alison Johnson in 2009 and has since become one of the region’s most prolific media buying agencies.
In the last five years, company revenue has grown five-fold and the team has expanded accordingly to meet demand.
Alison Johnson, the agency’s former MD, will remain a key part of the business.
She said: “Natalie’s journey with Forward And Thinking has been a rapid, momentous effort and we’ve no doubt that she’ll drive the Company forward.
“Her hard work and determination to make a difference simply knows no bounds.”
Natalie joined Forward and Thinking in 2014 on a two-week work experience placement.
Within two years, she was promoted to account director and started mentoring other team members while still keeping her key accounts happy and growing.
On becoming MD at Forward & Thinking, Natalie has become one of the region’s most exciting business talents.
The Top 30 Under 30 list she was named in is an awards scheme launched by Simon Jones.
Now in its second year, the 2019 cohort includes employees working across all sectors, from technology and manufacturing to emergency services and offshore wind.
A night of celebration will take place at the KCOM Stadium on Friday, April 12.
