Opening date finally revealed for Grimsby's huge new Primark

By Grimsby Telegraph | Posted: 18 Dec 2017

After months of delays, the new £4.3million expansion of Primark in Freshney Place finally has a re-opening date set.

Following the postponed autumn 2017 opening, the store is now expected to open on Thursday, January 18, Primark has confirmed.

New external signs have now appeared in preparation for the opening.

A recruitment drive took place last summer for both sales assistant and supervisor positions in part-time and full-time roles.

The store will be one of the largest Primarks in the country and part of Freshney Place's multi-storey car park was given over to make way for the expanded store.

The new expansion will see the old store increase from 10,000 sq ft to 47,000 sq ft - with 34,200 sq ft of retail space across two floors.

Construction work has been carried out by HCM Projects, part of Yorkshire-based Harris Construction Management, creating 250 jobs throughout the development period.
