Offshore wind farm helicopter tour prize for green energy photographers

By Grimsby Telegraph | Posted: 8 Nov 2018

A flight over Grimsby's biggest operational wind farm is being offered as a prize for talented photographers who have captured the UK's embracing of renewable energy.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has teamed up with Ørsted to lay on a helicopter flight over Race Bank offshore wind farm.

It would be just reward for energy enthusiasts who have captured inspiring original images that show the UK playing its part to tackle climate change and move towards a more sustainable, green future, capitalising on the success of Green GB Week which took place last month.

Opened earlier this year, Race Bank has a 573MW capacity, with 91 Siemens 6MW turbines located 17 miles off the Lincolnshire coast.

To enter, simply tag @GreenGreatBritain in an entry on social media platform Instagram or send them to digital-comms@beis.gov.uk by Sunday, November 11.

Up for grabs are two seats on a helicopter, to see what is currently the sixth largest wind farm in the world.
