New late-night cocktail bar coming to Princes Avenue as Lucca gets new owners

A popular Princes Avenue restaurant has new owners and they are launching a late-night cocktail bar with grazing plates.

Lucca Aperitivo reopened its doors in November 2018 and two weeks ago was bought by new owners Scott Harrington and Nicky Blowers, who are hoping to “bring life back” to the restaurant and bar.

The pair are getting ready to launch Bambino’s bar on May 26, which will be serving high-quality cocktails, champagne and spirits until 2am, alongside grazing dishes such as sliders and breads as an alternative to the adjoining restaurant.

There are also future plans for a rooftop terrace and VIP area with custom bottles of spirits.

Mr Harrington, who was the general manager of Lucca before becoming the owner, said: “We want to offer VIP experiences and also a place where customers can enjoy a drink before eating in the restaurant, or just somewhere different for a night out.

“We officially bought Lucca two weeks ago, and since then we have seen real success with customers and corporate functions. We can’t wait to open Bambinos on May 26 and everyone is invited to come and have a drink.”

The menu in the main restaurant will be consistent with what has been offer since Lucca reopened last year, and the new owners want to pride themselves on impeccable service and bringing a new vibe to the popular Avenues street.

Ms Blowers said: “The opportunity came up for us to buy the business, and we thought it was a viable proposition where we could really bring some new life to the restaurant.

“We want people to have somewhere to come for after-work cocktails, business lunches, corporate events or just a drink before their meal, as well as offering a grazing menu.

“The compliments since we took over have been fantastic. I never thought I would work in a restaurant but I absolutely love it.

“We’re new owners with a new message, and that’s to breathe some life into this end of Princes Avenue and provide a fantastic venue for people to visit.”

Bambinos will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 2am, and on Sunday afternoons. Lucca Aperitivo is open every day from noon to midnight.
