Work is now finished on the latest phase of construction to social landlord Ongo's new headquarters.

The roof for the new office in Scunthorpe town centre has now been completed.

The new development comes as part of a £60 million investment into the Church Square area of the town.

Local contractor Britcon (UK) is carrying out the construction of the head office and appointed Scunthorpe-based Ashbridge Roofing to construct the roof.

Commercial Manager Graham Alcock, from Ashbridge Roofing, said: “The new Ongo office will be one of the central focus points in Scunthorpe town and we are proud to have been involved in this project. We had eight staff working to ensure we completed the roofing on time and in budget.”

Most recently Ashbridge Roofing re-roofed the grade II listed Victoria Mills in Grimsby for Lindum Construction and is currently carrying out over a million pounds worth of work for a local housing reroofing scheme in Scunthorpe.

The next phase of the project is for the block work to be completed, followed by the fitting of external cladding.

Once the external cladding is completed the perimeter roof covering detail will be finished.

The next phase of the work is expected to be finished in February or March 2018.

Staff at Ongo Homes are expected to move into the new building in May 2018.

The new headquarters comes as part of investment by North Lincolnshire Council which also includes a new university centre, 200-unit facility for NHS workers, 60 one and two-bedroom homes on Lindum Street and a refurbishment of Scunthorpe Central Library.
