Terminal operator RMS Group has formed a joint venture with Liverpool-headquartered Jenkins to launch Humber-based Precision Stevedores Ltd.

The company, to be headed by John Daniels, begins trading today, incorporating the workforce of RMS Stevedoring, Humber Human Resources – part of RMS – and Jenkins Hull.

It will provide skilled personnel to ports and port-centric businesses around the Humber, including existing port operations in Grimsby, Immingham, Hull, Goole, Flixborough, Gunness and Althorpe.

Administration offices will be based at Hull Marina.

Ian Parsons, chairman of RMS Group, said: “Precision Stevedores will provide high quality, well trained and safe stevedoring solutions to RMS, Jenkins and our customers. We are delighted to have concluded this joint venture.”

Mr Daniels has headed up HHR for the past 12 years.

Paul O’Hare, managing director of Jenkins, said: “Precision will be focused on ensuring the highest standards of service and safety. We aim to bring new, properly trained people into the ports industry to complement our already highly skilled workforce.”
