A beauty therapist from Hull has been inspired to open the region's first vegan cruelty free salon.
Yasmin Gilbert is set to open The Salon in Hessle with owner, Frances Bentley, in February.
She says she was inspired to start up the salon after adopting her two rescue beagles, and finding out how much the breed is used in cosmetic testing for hair products.
She said that, with the salon's opening, it will reduce animal cruelty, as well as bringing something unique to the area.

"Finding out how much beagles and other animals are tested on for our use of cleaning products, make up and more has made me more aware that change needs to happen for the better, not just for us, but for our future generations," said Ms Gilbert.
"We also have a vegan friendly make up range coming into the salon packed full of great colours and products from the vegan cosmetics quest.
"We will have an array of treatments available along with vegan friendly hair services and spray tanning too.
"Being Hull's first vegan cruelty free beauty salons means the salon is for everyone to enjoy the true benefits of beautiful natural products, combined with a lot of beauty and hair knowledge."
Ms Gilbert said she has been stocking up on vegan friendly products for the store, including L’Oréals new vegan hair range.
The salon owners have nearly 20 years hair and beauty experience between them, and they cater for both genders.

"Last year was brilliant year for my career as I won an award for beauty therapist of the year, and then found out I was in the final for another award which will be announced in March 2019," said Ms Gilbert.
"I also became a qualified trainer and was head hunted by Skin Base, so alongside two salons, I will also be training the north east of England in electrical face and body treatments.
"The Salon is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment, which will incorporate my new venture, Beautique2eco, and we should be ready to open at the end of February."
Price lists for the salon website are currently being decided upon and designed, and the owners are looking for a talented beauty therapist and hair stylist. Applications can be made via the Facebook page Beautique Hessle.
The company are also hosting an open evening to showcase their creations and to welcome new and existing clients to the salon.
