Hi Society!

Cleethorpes’ latest addition to the thriving evening economy has officially opened, after guests were treated to a special preview last night.

The sport, film and music infused venue is a replay on a grander stage for Society, first attempted in the Sea View Quarter two years ago.

It becomes the fourth venue from Brett Smith, and second with his business partner Richard Bride, with whom he joined forces to launch Copper on Alexandra Road.

The largest by far, and a complete contrast from his micro-venue People Bar, it has a construction theme with fresh, exposed wood, barrel tables, open wiring and lighting towers illuminating the bar area.

Outside it takes a huge step up, with street food-style counter, a further bar and the USP – a stadium.

The L-shaped raised seating focuses on a large projector screen, where football, film and festivals will air al fresco.

Delighted co-owner Brett said: “I thought it was a roaring success. It was a really good, everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves and liked the new look. It is different to anything else, really good, and it was quite relaxed and very communal. Everyone was involved with each other, which is great to watch.”
