Grimsby Kia dealership steps it up a gear with revamp

A £2 million overhaul and significant expansion of Grimsby’s Kia car dealership has been completed.

Stoneacre’s Rendel Street facility has undergone a major extension and facelift, with the bright and airy showroom – the closest to the recently opened £20 million Stallingborough import handling operation – now able to accommodate 15 cars.

A further addition is in the improved workshop, with six bays now available, meaning the aftersales team are able to book customer vehicles in for MOT work and a service much more efficiently.

It comes as Mark Avison is promoted to sales manager for the enhanced site, currently the only Kia dealership in the area to display the award-winning new Kia Stinger.

The Rendel Street facility has undergone a major extension and facelift.

He has worked at the branch for 16 years, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge of the South Korean brand. Mr Avison said: “We are delighted with our new state-of-the-art showroom. Our new facilities allow us to display all Kia models in a light and comfortable environment and our new service area has given us more space to service customer vehicles and conduct MOTs.

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers for supporting our business throughout the disruption, the team and I are delighted to welcome new and existing customers back to see us in our new home.

“We welcome the people of Grimsby to the dealership to view our latest range of Kia models.”

Having traded as a dealership for more than 20 years, bosses at the Thorne-headquartered major motor group, which has a strong presence across the north and also operates the Volvo dealership on Altyre Way, said the showroom had started to look its age, with a decision taken to upgrade.

A total of 32 people are employed at the dealership.
