The residents of local extra care housing facility Strand Court had their Christmas made by Grimsby and Cleethorpes Lions when they made a very kind donation over the festive period.

Club President Kathrine Lee and member Clive Todd presented Care4all staff and Strand Court residents with 70 bags of Thornton’s chocolate to be used as gifts for those dining in Café Vintage on Christmas Day as well as a brand new 4 in 1 music centre for the residents.

Clive said ‘We knew the work that was carried out at Strand Court and with Christmas time being not only financially difficult for some residents, it can also be lonely and if we can help to spread some Christmas spirit then we feel it is a very worthy cause for us to support ’

Care4all Catering Supervisor Carol Colbeck said ‘It was extremely generous of the Lions to provide these gifts. The residents really enjoy listening to their records while reminiscing and it’s really beneficial for those with Dementia. The communal stereo broke recently and they had been lost without it so the new one is very much appreciated!’

Café Vintage is part of Care4all, a local charity who provide support services for vulnerable people within North East Lincolnshire. The café is open to the public 7 days per week between 9am and 3pm and also provides free tea and coffee for on duty emergency services personnel.
