The new Game store in Grimsby will be opening in Freshney Place, exactly five months after the popular retailer left the shopping centre.
Game announced this weekend that it would be returning to Grimsby after a five month absence, and has now confirmed it's returning to the centre.
The closure in March was a huge blow to gamers across North East Lincolnshire, as they lost a trusted and reliable store that was able to cater to nearly all of their gaming needs.
The store will reopen in the town on Friday, August 17.
Game Grimsby tweeted the news over the weekend without revealing its new location, but has now confirmed where the store will be.
While the store will not be opening in its old location, it will be in the same area of the shopping centre, based opposite Primark, where Grainger Games used to be.
Game in Freshney Place before its closure
The store took to social media to say: "So we can now confirm we will be coming back into Freshney Place.
"We couldn’t quite get our old unit back but managed to get the spot opposite Primark where Grainger Games used to be."
Amanda Austin, Centre Director, said that she was delighted that the "hugely popular" store is returning to Grimsby, feeling that it would be a brilliant addition to the new retailers joining them over the next few months.
She said: “We’re delighted that Game are returning to Freshney Place, they’re hugely popular and have a large following in Grimsby. We have no doubt they will be very well received and we look forward to welcoming them and their customers back to the centre.
"Game are one of several retailers coming to Freshney Place in the coming months, including the popular footwear brand Deichmann and The British Heart Foundation and we are confident these brands will add to our offering and our customer’s shopping experience.”
Deichmann is coming to Grimsby's Freshney Place later this year
International footwear and accessories chain Deichmann are set to open a large 4,000 square foot unit next to Primark in Freshney Place in the Autumn.
This will be Deichmann's first shop in Grimsby. Previously, shoppers had to travel to Hull or Doncaster buy from them.
A British Heart Foundation superstore is also set to open in the shopping centre, taking up four units when it opens in late September or early October.
