The first pictures of a new walkway linking the brand new Hull Venue to Princes Quay have been revealed.
Work on the new link got underway this week ahead of the 3,000-seater venue opening in the summer.
The new pedestrian walkway will allow visitors to walk from Princes Quay’s Quayside Level, across Waterhouse Lane and into the new venue.
What the entrance to Princes Quay will look like
Pictures show a new façade and signage, as well as a level crossing between the two sites, which are all part of a £20m investment in the shopping centre.
Dan Harris, general manager of Hull Venue, has high hopes for the impact the new arena will have.
He said: “Hull Venue is at the centre of the community and we pride ourselves on the relationships we are developing with our neighbours.
“It will attract thousands of people a week into the city centre – many from outside of the region – and this will, in turn, be of significant benefit to local business owners, shops, hotels and retailers in shopping centres like Princes Quay.”
Meanwhile, John Magee, Princes Quay centre manager, said: "The link with Hull Venue is the next big opportunity for us.
“What a legacy for the opening City of Culture year to leave us with – a brilliant facility right on our doorstep.

“We have developed a great partnership with the Hull Venue team and are looking forward to a successful working relationship that will certainly be a benefit for the city.”
The new walkway is expected to be ready for the summer when thousands of visitors will head to Hull Venue to see the first acts to play there.
International stars like George Ezra and Boy George have already been announced to perform during the venue’s first few months.
