Demand grows for Beverley homes after town named one of north's top places to live

Beverley’s reputation as one of the top 10 places to live in the north is fuelling demand in the housing market, a developer says.
Award-winning house builder Beal Homes has released more properties in response to tremendous demand for new homes at its leafy site south of Beverley Minster.
The next phase of 12 homes at the exclusive St. John’s Fold development has been released after buyers snapped up half of the properties off plan.
With just two properties remaining available from the first release, 28 of the 55 homes which form the development have already been sold, with the first residents due to move in by early next year.
It comes as Beverley has been named once again by the Sunday Times in the top 10 best places to live in the North of England.

Sue Waudby, Beal sales and marketing director, said: “The demand for homes at St. John’s Fold has been very strong indeed and we expect this latest phase of the development will be no different.
“Beverley’s attractions are now becoming known far and wide and that is fuelling interest in the local housing market.”
St. John’s Fold has three and four bedroom homes in 12 different house styles in a coveted location off Woodmansey Mile, close to Beverley town centre.
The latest release is in the heart of the development, including three-bedroom semi and detached properties, and four-bedroom detached homes, with prices from £265,995 to £342,995.
Helen Morley, sales executive at St. John’s Fold, said the development appealed to a wide range of buyers.

She said: “So far we’ve sold properties to downsizers who want to be in walking distance of the town centre, people who want to relocate for the catchment area of the schools, first-time buyers, and couples planning a family who are looking for a larger home.
“Beverley Minster and the town centre are just a few minutes’ walk from St. John’s Fold, which also appeals to people who have reserved homes.
“With all the lovely people who have bought homes here and the size and location of the development, it’s sure to create a really nice neighbourhood feel, which fits in with Beverley’s community vibe.”
Beverley was named in The Sunday Times top 10 places to live in the north last month, with Beverley Westwood highlighted as one of the jewels in the town's crown.
The judges also noted the surge of housebuilding taking place, saying: "Beverley is growing physically, too, with more than 3,000 homes planned during the next decade."
