The owners of the Punchbowl restaurant and pub in Cleethorpes are calling time at the bar and selling up.

Bernard and Sheila Stafford are ready to retire and pass the reins onto somebody new.

Previously listed online for sale in August 2018, the business is now being marketed by Christie & Co with a price tag of £550,000.

The substantial, detached property on the resort's North Promenade has a 120 cover bar and restaurant, and an entertainment area with a pool table on the ground floor.

Catering to locals and visitors from further afield, particularly during the summer months, the popular venue  enjoys a prominent position.

On the first floor there is a private function room known as Lacey's, which can cater for 120 guests. On the second floor is the owner’s accommodation with two bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen.

Having been under the same ownership for over 30 years, the Punch Bowl Inn has hosted many events and weddings and is hugely popular and well known in the area.

Matthew Hendry, business agent at Christie & Co, said: “The Punch Bowl is an attractive and exciting opportunity to continue and build upon the foundations laid by Bernard and Sheila.

"Its location in Cleethorpes, on the seafront, offers a new owner the chance to enjoy this lifestyle business, with scope grow and make it their own.

“There is plenty of opportunity to increase trade through weddings and events, while continuing to accommodate for the local trade.

"The business also offers huge potential to increase revenue with the function room, as well as introducing new and refreshing ideas.”

It trades Monday to Friday from 11am -11pm, Saturday 11am - midnight and Sunday 10.30 am - 11pm.
