Ambitious plans for the Humber to make an impact on the national and global stage will be revealed next week.
Marketing Humber will share its new vision – including how to build on the success of the region’s booming green energy sector – at a special event at Hull Minster on Thursday, March 21.
A host of top speakers will feature on the evening, including Marketing Humber chair Andy Parkinson, Lord Prescott, and the director at Hull University’s Energy and Environment Institute Professor Dan Parsons.
High on the agenda will be the importance of collaboration and having “one voice” to represent the region.
Dr Diana Taylor, managing director at Marketing Humber, said: “The event will bring together key stakeholders such as the University of Hull and Humber LEP. It is very much a collaboration between business, academia and the public sector.

“It is about building on the excitement which is already in the region. To enable the Humber to reach its true potential, we need to be ambitious.
“We need one voice and to remind every business – large or small – of the role it can play in growing the Humber.”
Dr Taylor said the new Marketing Humber strategy would be based around “making the region relevant on the global stage”.
She said: “We need to build on the success we have seen with the renewable energy sector and the Energy Estuary brand.
