Jobs under threat at east Hull cocoa firm

Thursday, March 11, 2010, 15:55

The future of an east Hull cocoa factory is hanging in the balance after the owners announced proposals to close the facility in the summer.

ADM Cocoa, which employs 86 people at its plant in Cleveland Street, confirmed a month-long consultation process was now underway.

The US-based company said it planned to close the facility on July 1, citing a need to increase operational efficiencies across the business.
